Property inspections: Gas safety
Our commitment to you
- Transform undertakes a gas safety check every year.
- We arrange for our gas contractors to make an appointment with you to carry one out.
- We are required to do this by law, and it is a condition of your tenancy that you allow these contractors access to your home.
Gas appliances can be a hazard if they are not properly maintained. A poorly maintained gas appliance may produce carbon monoxide, which can be fatal if breathed in, or be a fire risk (see more information on carbon monoxide below).
What you can do to keep yourself safe from gas
Smell gas, act fast!
If you smell gas, or suspect there is a gas escape, immediately open all doors and windows and shut off the gas supply tap. This is usually located next to the gas meter, but you should check to make sure. You should then call the Cadent Gas emergency line on 0800 111 999.
Further details are set out in our Gas Safety Management Plan, please contact our Health and Safety Lead on for a copy.
