How Transform Clients Helped Recruit Transform’s New Interim CEO

Written by the Client Forum Blog Gang

Recently, the Client Forum had an amazing opportunity – we were asked to help recruit some new trustees and the new Interim Chief Executive of Transform. We got involved because we wanted to make sure the right people are running Transform and looking after clients’ interests.

Our Journey

The five of us embarked on a journey that was eye-opening and, honestly, a lot of fun! Before we started, we received training in recruitment techniques and had independent support to guide us throughout.

We met some incredible people with amazing experience. There was thorough preparation for the interview days, and during the interviews, we were supported the whole time by someone taking notes and answering our questions.

Our Role in the Process

We weren’t just observers – we were part of the decision-making. We:

  • Chose the questions we wanted to ask candidates.
  • Gave honest answers when candidates asked us what we thought about Transform – the good and the not-so-good.
  • Shared our opinions with the Board and Executive Team about the candidates.

Our thoughts really mattered, and it felt great to contribute in a meaningful way.

Giving Back and Making a Difference

Being part of the recruitment process allowed us to give back to Transform and play a role in shaping the organisation. We helped select a few new trustees, each specialising in different areas, and we were part of welcoming our new Interim Chief Executive, Carl Brazier.

Through this experience, we also gained a better understanding of why Transform makes certain decisions, especially about policies that affect us as clients.
